About us
BIT was initiated by the Belarusian theatre community in response to the risks facing the existence of independent Belarusian theatre amid the socio-political crisis in Belarus and forced emigration. Its formal start was the signing, by more than 50 theatre makers, of the Memorandum on the founding of the Belarusian Theatre Institute in September 2023 in Warsaw, Poland.
