DRAMATYZACYJA –– is a competition-award for authors who create contemporary Belarusian playwriting. We gather texts capable of reflecting the cultural and social context of the countries where the Belarusian theatre community lives today. We invite you to take part!

Draw attention to topical texts that cannot be presented in Belarus and are hard to adapt for a foreign-language audience

How to take part

Authors from Belarus may submit plays anonymously or under a pseudonym. We do not require a real name, either for public publication or for communication at the selection stage. Texts are accepted in Belarusian, Russian and Polish. Send your works to dramatyzacyja@proton.me, providing a safe contact for the author. Please send texts in PDF format.

1/12/2025 – 20/01/2026

Acceptance of playwriting texts for the competition in accordance with the Regulations.
Jury’s work
February 2026
The reading of plays by jury members from Belarus and Poland. Based on the assessment, long- and short-lists of selected plays will be formed.
Festival in Warsaw
April 2026
At the festival venue, performative readings of the five short-listed plays will take place and the winner’s name will be announced.
Creating the archive
March–April 2026
The texts from the competition’s long- and short-lists will form the basis of an archive of contemporary Belarusian playwriting on the competition website.

Хто можа ўдзельнічаць у конкурсе?

Participants in the competition may be Belarusian playwrights who identify as such, living in Belarus and beyond its borders, in any country of the world.

This year the competition accepts plays written between 2020 and 2025.

There are no age restrictions for taking part in the playwriting competition.

There are also no restrictions on the number of plays a single playwright may submit to the competition.

Yes, there is a prize fund for playwrights whose plays made the short-list. Four finalists will each receive €200, and the playwright whose play the jury deems the best — €1,000.
